How to Make Jelly Soap Using Jelly Soap Base
Ingredients & Materials:
-
Jelly Soap Base
-
Soap-safe fragrance oil
-
Soap-safe colorant or mica powder (optional)
-
Silicone molds
-
Microwave-safe container or double boiler
-
Spoon or spatula
Instructions:
-
Prepare Your Work Area:
-
Clean and dry your molds and utensils.
-
Gather all your ingredients and materials.
-
-
Cut the Jelly Soap Base:
-
Cut the Jelly Soap Base into small, even chunks. This helps it melt more evenly.
-
-
Melt the Base:
-
Place the chunks into a microwave-safe container.
-
Microwave in 15-30 second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted.
(Alternatively, melt gently using a double boiler.)
-
-
Add Fragrance and Color (Optional):
-
Once melted, allow the base to cool slightly (but not set).
-
Stir in soap-safe fragrance oil (typically 1–3% of total weight).
-
Add soap-safe colorant or mica powder and mix thoroughly until evenly colored.
-
-
Pour into Molds:
-
Carefully pour the liquid jelly soap into your silicone molds.
-
Lightly spritz with rubbing alcohol to remove any surface bubbles.
-
-
Let It Set:
-
Allow the jelly soap to cool and set at room temperature for at least 4–6 hours, or refrigerate to speed up the process.
-
-
Unmold and Store:
-
Gently remove the jelly soap from the molds.
-
Store in an airtight container to maintain its texture and prevent drying out.
-
Tips:
-
Avoid over-heating the base to maintain its texture.
-
Store finished jelly soaps in a cool, dry place. Refrigeration can extend shelf life and help maintain firmness.
-
Use care when handling in the shower—they’re slippery!
